PhD student positions in Biochemistry (m/f/d)

starting as soon as possible (available from November 2020).  Salary is paid according to the German salary scheme for the public sector (TVöD Bund) .The positions are 65% positions for doctoral research, initially limited to 3 years with the potential of extension.

Project description

We are looking for several PhD students with a background of biochemistry or biology and have strong interests in learning and applying mass spectrometry-based techniques to understand biological questions. We use multi-disciplinary approaches that combines proteomics, cross-linking mass spectrometry, molecular biology, structural biology and bioinformatics to investigate the organizational aspects of protein assemblies and their functions in various biological systems, such as different organelles and neuronal synapses. We provide an international, innovative and interdisciplinary work environment, with access to state-of-the-art mass spectrometry platform as well as many other infrastructures within the institute and on campus Buch.
