The Leibniz-Forschungsinstitut für Molekulare Pharmakologie (FMP) in Berlin invites applications for the position of an
Independent Junior Group Leader (tenure track) in Molecular Physiology, Cell Biology or Neuroscience (m/f/d)
We are seeking applications from candidates with a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics, neuroscience), considerable postdoctoral experience, and a proven track record of scientific excellence. The group is expected to perform cutting-edge research in any area of molecular physiology, cell biology, neuroscience related to the research portfolio of the FMP.
FMP researchers benefit from state-of-the-art infrastructure including live cell super-resolution imaging, (cryo-) electron microscopy, small-molecule and whole-genome siRNA screening, mass spectrometry-based proteomics, as well as an animal facility. The group will be embedded into a highly collaborative, international scientific environment within the FMP and its partner institutions on-Campus (e.g. the Max-Delbrück-Center for Molecular Medicine) and in Berlin.
The position is limited to an initial period of 5 years with the possibility for extension or tenure at the W2/W3 professorial level (or equivalent) after external peer-review. Candidates are expected to secure extramural funding within young investigator programs of national or international organizations, such as the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), or the European Research Council (ERC).
The Leibniz-Forschungsinstitut für Molekulare Pharmakologie (FMP) is a member of the Leibniz Association and is legally represented by the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V.. The institute is located on the biomedical campus in Berlin-Buch, and offers an excellent scientific environment along with the creative and inspiring atmosphere of an institution at the forefront of its field. Financial compensation will be competitive and depends on previous research experience. In addition, a start-up package for equipment, yearly personnel and running costs will be provided. Salaries will be based on TVöD Bund.
